Lughnasadh
Next to Beltane was Lughnasadh, celebrated at the first full moon with the sun in the sign of Leo, and later corrupted into Lammas on August 1st. We see now the
old celtic deity Lug, who had a divinely magical spear. Indeed, the
Old Irish Jamb [ = skillful, weapon-launching hand] is the root of the Jam in Lammastide. Then comes Samhain on another and higher round of the time helix.
